Somerset Ladies in Business

Fiona Marlow and Kim Philpots have been successfully running this business networking group for the last 6 years, for Somerset entrepreneurs and businesswomen who work in a large variety of business vocational areas. This is in addition to their day jobs!

We love to facilitate professional and friendly groups and believe that getting to know each other is more important than just collecting contacts. It makes recommending other businesses in good faith a much easier and more pleasant experience. So, if you are looking for informal, friendly and motivational groups, with no yearly membership fees, then come and give our groups a try.

We run Somerset Ladies in Business (SLiB) is an all-female group and can be found on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Our meetings are held in the morning so that it is easy to attend after the school run and the venues have plenty of free parking available. Your ticket price includes tea and coffee on arrival and a further serving of coffee, tea, and slabs of cake later in the morning.

We run two meetings per month at the moment ( as we hope to grow this year) one meeting is held at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Course, Corfe and the other is at Cricket St Thomas Golf Course, Chard.

We have professional guest speakers at every meeting for both groups, delivering information on the most vital aspects of business, to help facilitate the learning and improvement of all our skills. A valuable aspect of each meeting is sharing knowledge and experience with one another to help build friendships and business relationships through a professional yet informal networking setting.

Our only rules are that there is no 'hard selling' or 'recruiting' as many people are offended by these actions. We also do not encourage 'mean girls from the playground' we very firmly believe in kindness, as running your own business can be tough enough, you need to be able to come, relax and network in a safe space.

When bought in advance, tickets are £20 per head and £25 at the door. Refunds are available but not within the same week as the meeting as refreshments will have been ordered.
